Finding DiRT

Finding DiRT, E.008

Episode “crazy” 8!
.
This is the month in 2020 that ended with “normalcy” taking a leave of absence. This also happened to be one of the busiest months for rock music releases. Releases that would have been the perfect distraction while sheltering in place, if only, back then, I had been looking for these artists. (Actually, at the time, I was busy wrapping up an extended journey through music old and new from 1994 that was started in 2019). After listening to songs from approximately 50 March 2020 albums, there was a total of 32 share-worthy, new albums discovered; 25 of them had tracks featured in the previous two episodes; a few of those 25 are again represented here, along with the 7 artists you haven’t heard yet.

Thank you for listening, and for anything above and beyond,

Finding DiRT, E.007

Lucky episode 7!
.
The continuing adventure through music from March 2020…
I love to rock hard with the best of them. I also have a strong attraction to lighter rock songs, especially if they have well-crafted lyrics that hit home. Some fine examples of what I mean are sprinkled within this hour of DiRT. Put your headphones on or crank your stereo and hear “how deep it goes”; or do so “when you’re ready”.
.
If you listen and enjoy, my gratitude will be with you… always.

Enjoy encore performances from the best bands I found while digging into newly discovered albums from February 2020! We start off, though, with a couple of bands not in the previous episode (004) who’ve also made a great impression on me. As always, I saved the best songs for last, so don’t miss a minute of this one!

Finding DiRT E.003

I remember a time when the cable channel, Palladia, was awesomely playing 2-3 hour long festival highlight shows of live performances from varied artists all the time; that is, before MTV took over and eventually phased out that level of awesomeness. Well, when I put together these shows for you, long lost Palladia is typically where my head is at. Except, I’m arranging studio recorded performances in a way that gives you a sampling of each presented artist. Ultimately, I try to close the show with the best they have to offer, and this IS the third and final hour of January 2020 songs that I found not long ago. Of course, I love everything in this one, but everyone should really dig the last two numbers: an energetic romp from Bobby’s favorite, UUBBUURRUU (one I like to pronounce loud AND menacingly with the U sound from Subaru); and Mammock brings the house down with their debut album’s final track!

Thank you for listening and enjoying!

Finding DiRT E.002

Finding DiRT E.002 (Finds from JAN 2020 #2) TKR air date 29JUN21

This week, you’ll hear some encore performances from the bands featured in the first episode; mainly because when I listened to their albums, I found it very difficult to settle on only one track as share-worthy (an indication of how often I was “moved” by these artists).
.
This is part two of a three part journey of musical discovery through the first month of 2020, yes, over a year ago; but I just finished finding and assembling all this music a few weeks ago (started researching these albums a few months ago).
Amazing how much music I miss while making other plans.
.
These songs were written and recorded well before the pandemic, and I’m sure the artists would tell you themselves that some of their words have taken on a slightly different meaning in these different times we’re going through (“the past is another country”). Aside from that, I believe I have here for you some songs of quality that are worthy of your attention and your ears.
.
Thanks for listening,
